OURCELIUM: Breaking Fashion Boundaries with Agender Circular Design

The ARCA Project presents OURCELIUM, an innovative Agender Circular Capsule Wardrobe (ACCW) that brings a fresh perspective to contemporary fashion. Born from the collaboration of three emerging designers, this collection challenges traditional industry standards through versatile, multifunctional pieces that transcend gender boundaries and cultural norms. OURCELIUM pioneers a transnational co-creation process, embedding circular design principles while promoting a new European dimension for creative collaborations.

A meeting of creative minds

The collection brings together three emerging European fashion designers: Adaobim Ezeoke, Laura Corberò and Magdalena Stüve - based in Bologna, Barcelona, and Berlin, respectively. Selected through ARCA's Open Call, the designers completed an intensive six-week mentorship program, refining their creative vision under expert guidance. Their diverse backgrounds and unique blend of skills, knowledge, and cultural perspectives enriched the project, showcasing how creativity flourishes across borders.

What makes OURCELIUM particularly remarkable is its development and co-creation process. Despite being separated by thousands of kilometers, the three fashion designers created a cohesive collection that transcends national boundaries. Their successful collaboration showcases the potential of digital tools and transnational collaboration in modern fashion design and highlights the emergence of creative networks in shaping the future of European design.

Redefining the Wardrobe

OURCELIUM is a capsule wardrobe: a small collection of six multifunctional garments designed to be mixed and matched. Each piece works in harmony with the others and can be styled in multiple ways, enabling wearers to create diverse looks for any occasion - from workday to evening - using just a few essential pieces.

The collection's non-binary design moves beyond traditional gendered fashion conventions. The garments adapt effortlessly to different body types and personal styles, combining practical versatility with contemporary design. Through this approach, OURCELIUM embraces inclusivity while advancing a fully sustainable fashion industry.

OURCELIUM demonstrates how sustainability, inclusivity, and contemporary style work together in fashion design. Through this project, ARCA continues to advance innovation in the fashion industry while fostering new creative approaches.

The ARCA Project's next phase includes two practical workshops in Bologna: one focused on Business Modelling and the other on Marketing & Digital Communication. These free sessions will use OURCELIUM as a case study, providing participants with practical insights and hands-on experience in building a sustainable fashion business.
